Profile

Rita is a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Lisbon. She holds a bachelor and Master in Social Psychology, a specialisation in Family Therapy and Systemic Intervention, and a PhD in Sociology of Family, Gender, and Youth. Her research interests include changing trends in family and personal relationships,  configurational approach, social attitudes to family and gender. 

She has collaborated in several national and international research projects, such as “Life Trajectories and Social Networks: The life course in an intergenerational perspective” (FCT). She is a board member of the European Society of Family Relations (ESFR) and the ESA Research Network 13 on Families and Intimate Lives. She is also a co-coordinator of the Thematic Section Families and Life Course of the Portuguese Sociological Association (APS).
